Bench press

I forgot Amiga called their computer desktop 'Workbench'. Who wouldn’t rather be a skilled carpenter than a 'knowledge worker'? Benchtop or Workbench evokes craft and artisanal skill in a way desktop sounds formailsed and cold. Or am I rambling?
